As publisher of the official Arkansas State Board of Nursing publication, ASBN Update, PCI is launching Nurses for the Girls in hopes of creating the largest team of Arkansas nurses to participate in the Komen Arkansas Race for the Cure.
Jaime Robertson Alverson, labor and delivery nurse for Baptist Health in Little Rock, is serving as team captain. Jaime's mother, also a labor and delivery nurse at Baptist, was diagnosed with breast cancer one month after giving birth to Jaime. While her mother passed away on June 27, 1982, her memory and spirit continue to inspire.
Not only will Nurses for the Girls help in the fight against breast cancer, the team will also raise money for nursing scholarships in conjunction with the ThinkAboutItNursing Scholarship Foundation. For more information on Nurses for the Girls, visit nursesforthegirls.com.
